Alain Bengochea, Gloria Carcoba Falomir, Suheyla Sarisahin, Tracey West, and Xin Zhang (all Early Childhood, Multilingual, and Special Education) published "Toward a translanguaging-as-resource orientation: elementary and secondary teachers’ shifting beliefs and practices in English-medium settings" in the International Journal of Bilingual Education & Bilingualism.  

This article illustrates how elementary and secondary teachers are making sense of translanguaging, the authentic ways multilingual students draw on their full language resources to communicate and learn. This article highlights what teachers are noticing, what feels challenging in day-to-day practice, and what kinds of supports can help schools better build on students’ linguistic strengths.
