Honors Student Council Event Programming

At the heart of the Honors College community and serving as the backbone of student involvement, the Honors Student Council (HSC) gives students a platform to impact their Honors peers through hosting a variety of events and volunteer opportunities. By supporting HSC, you contribute to the creation of memorable social and professional development events that shape the co-curricular experience of our students.

Medallion Ceremony

We proudly celebrate graduation each semester at our Honors College Medallion Ceremony. This exclusive event allows friends and family to gather with Honors faculty, staff and students to individually recognize the accomplishments of our graduates. Your contribution toward this milestone event goes toward providing unique gifts for our graduates and supporting our HC Chamber Ensemble.

Honors Rebellion

Open to all Honors students, the Honors Rebellion was created to build camaraderie between students and encourage personal wellness. The group holds regular training sessions throughout each semester in preparation to run the Tough Mudder as a team! Your support goes toward the team’s travel and competition expenses, empowering students to stay healthy, form lasting friendships, and conquer challenges together.

Friendsgiving

Originally created to provide a home-away-from-home for our students during the holidays, Friendsgiving has become a cherished tradition for the entire HC community. Your support ensures the continuation of this heartwarming event, bringing students, faculty, and staff together in a potluck-style dinner that celebrates community, friendship, and the spirit of gratitude.

Study Fuel

From morning bagel boosts to midday pizza pit stops, our themed snack days (e.g. Welcome Back Bagels, Mid-Semester Madness, Refresh Zone for Finals, etc.) provide a welcome break for Honors College students, offering complimentary bites to fuel them through long days and nights studying. Upon graduating, HC students often tell us how grateful they were for the free food they received from the college during the most stressful times in the semester.

Field Trips & Experiential Learning

Some of the most impactful learning happens outside of the classroom. Elevate the educational journey for Honors College students by funding off-campus experiences, including field trips in HON 400-level seminar courses and other co-curricular adventures.
