GPSA Council

The GPSA Council consists of representatives from each academic department and the elected executive board, which are advised by the GPSA business manager and the Graduate College dean. The council is governed in accordance to the GPSA Constitution and GPSA Bylaws.

If you are currently an enrolled and admitted student interested in becoming involved with council activities, please contact the GPSA or GPSA president. You can also check out our organizational chart, which also lists current vacancies within the council and committees.

Council Meetings

If you have been selected to serve as your department’s representative, please submit the Academic Year Representative Form or Summer Term Representative Form to the gpsa@unlv.edu or bring with you to your first council meeting. If you have been selected as a representative and are unable to attend a meeting in person, you must appoint a proxy utilizing the Proxy Form which must be submitted three business days prior to the scheduled meeting.

In accordance with NRS 241.020 (Nevada Open Meeting Law), meeting agendas are posted on-campus and online at least three business days prior to the scheduled meeting date.

Department representatives and at-large members are appointed to various committees on-campus to provide a voice for all UNLV graduate and professional students. While some committees meet regularly, others do not. Check out the announcements page to view upcoming GPSA Committee meeting dates and times.

Recognized Student Organizations

The GPSA recognizes organized groups of currently enrolled UNLV graduate & professional students that have a commitment to academics, diversity, leadership development, and service and/or student involvement. The GPSA provides limited funding opportunities for student organizations and individual events and/or activities.
