The Graduate Student Association (GSA) was founded on November 6, 1980 for the purpose of furthering and enhancing the academic goals of the graduate students at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV). On January 30, 2003, the name was officially changed to the Graduate & Professional Student Association (GPSA) to reflect the inclusion of the association’s constituents enrolled in professional schools.
The GPSA is governed in accordance to the GPSA Constitution and Bylaws. GPSA Council meetings follow Robert’s Rules of Order and are run in accordance with NRS 241.020 (Nevada Open Meeting Law).
GPSA Council & Goals
The GPSA Council consists of a representative from each academic department or professional school offering either a graduate or a professional degree. Each year, the GPSA Council and Executive Board establish goals in support of the mission of the GPSA, the Graduate College, and the University. The GPSA Executive Board regularly reports to the GPSA Council on the status of the goals to reinforce commitment and progress.
To become involved, Please attend our monthly meetings held on the first Monday of each month in the student Union, 2nd floor, Room 208 A-C.
