Computer Usage Policies

In order to access to the computers in the Graduate Student Commons, LLB 2141, students need to do a one-time registration either in the Graduate Student Commons, in one of the student labs located on campus, or online to activate their ACE account.

You MUST be a currently enrolled graduate/professional to activate and access your account. When using your printing account: black and white and color copies are deducted from your Rebelcard. After activating your computing account, you'll receive 100 MB of storage space, commonly referred to as a home directory, on the network server. To access your home directory, go here for directions.

The GPSA Computer Lab is equipped with 3 iMacs and 39 PCs running Microsoft© Windows XP computers. In addition to the software programs listed below, the GPSA also has several flatbed scanners, Xerox machine, and a color laser printer. The facility has a conference room for small group meetings. Reservations (for a maximum of 2 hours per reservation) are made through the GPSA office, 702-895-2261.

Through the generosity of UNLV Libraries, the Graduate Student Commons has a Epson Plotter for printing posters (maximum 36" inches). Cost is $11 p/linear foot. Payment for poster printing comes directly off your RebelCard. When first creating your poster using a software (we suggest PowerPoint), it is important to set the dimensions for your poster size. That way, your images will be scaled to fit the size that you selected for your poster.
