The once church singer with an LA influence comes to Las Vegas with the passion of connecting people through his music. At least, that was 10 years ago. Today, he continues to successfully pursue his aspirations, drawing inspiration from the intricacies of life. Chadwick Johnson is his name. Attracted to Vegas’s booming music business, Johnson arrived at the entertainment capital with the mindset not to be better than anyone, but to grow its creative community.

“Art shouldn’t be a competition,” Johnson said.

Johnson knows the music industry along with its toughness, but nothing stops him there. For him, music is about expression, understanding, and finding peace. People are stronger when they focus on commonalities, not the divisive things, according to Johnson.

There’s no rules to writing, another thing Johnson shared on his creative process.

Johnson is currently working on his first musical with his co-writer, Kalani Queypo. He says sometimes they have an idea of what they want to write yet other times they have no idea. The spontaneity of song-writing brings an exciting aspect to Johnson’s experience. No song or performance can be duplicated. Heart Crisis, one of Johnson’s most popular hits, peaked at #5 on overseas charts after promotion in the United Kingdom. Part of the reason for Johnson's great success was not from money focus, but keeping to his core values; simply using song as a relation conduit.

“Of course we’d all love a Grammy, but that’s not what it should be about,” Johnson said.

Johnson believes we’re “all just going through life,” and we should work harder at understanding each other. Success comes through that.
