Presentations
A Writing Center staff member can visit your class, department, unit, or RSO to give a 15-20 minute presentation that provides an overview of the Writing Center’s offerings, explains how to schedule appointments, and clarifies what to expect in consultations.
Presentation services are subject to staff member availability. If we cannot accommodate your request, we encourage you to share this video with your group. It will help them understand when and why to schedule an appointment and which type of consultation would be best for them based on their needs and where they are in the writing process.
Workshops
If you would like a session that covers more than the standard informational presentation, the Writing Center offers customized workshops during which one of our staff members will work with your group to explore a writing project, process, or task in a more focused, in-depth, and interactive format.
While we accept workshop requests throughout the year and do our best to accommodate all requests, please note that we may not be able to fulfill requests during busier times of the semester (e.g., first few weeks of the semester, last few weeks of the semester, interim periods).
Promotional Materials
The Writing Center is pleased to supply promotional materials - inventory permitting - that carry our logo for display in UNLV offices or for distribution at campus and community events.
Tours
We are happy to lead your group in a brief tour of the Writing Center, to familiarize you with our space and offerings.
Just as with requests for presentations and workshops, we will make every effort to lead a tour for your group, contingent on staff member availability, but we may not be able to host you during high traffic times in the center.
