Support the College

Gifts support scholarships, professional experiences, fund assistantships, and allow opportunities for student research competitions.

Your Support Matters

Private gifts to the Greenspun College of Urban Affairs are used to support our most important assets: our students. These gifts provide scholarships to the best and brightest, fund graduate assistantships that allow students to focus on research, help faculty maintain dynamic and innovative programs, and give the dean a means of cultivating the areas that present the greatest opportunities to move the college forward to its strategic goals.

For more information about giving to the Greenspun College of Urban Affairs, contact Jeffrey Holbrook, Director of Development, jeffrey.holbrook@unlv.edu, 702-895-0036.

Dean's Associates

The initial way to show annual support to the Greenspun College of Urban Affairs is to join as a Dean’s Associate. Individuals or corporations that contribute at least $1,000 annually to the Greenspun College of Urban Affairs are invited to university and college engagements throughout the year. Funds given to the Dean’s Associates allow students opportunities to attend conferences or competitions to present papers or research findings.

For more information about the Dean's Associates program, contact the Division of Philanthropy and Alumni Affairs.

UNLV Debate Team

UNLV Debate Team

The award-winning UNLV Debate Team, established in 2007, has quickly grown into a national powerhouse. UNLV's team is ranked eighth in the country and headed to the 2018 National Debate Tournament. The UNLV team was one of only 16 teams to receive an automatic invite to compete at the national championships.

UNLV’s squad consists of eight, two-person teams, along with coaches and support staff. Undergraduate students from any major can participate on the team and hone their skills in public speaking, critical thinking, research, and cross-examination. As the UNLV Debate Team continues to grow and rise in the rankings, students from across the country have taken notice. With your financial support, the team can provide scholarships to students, cover the cost of student travel to competitions, run summer debate camps for middle and high school students, and maintain overall debate operations funding to ensure that the program can perform at its best.

Please help us meet this critical need. Your gift ensures that our top-ranked team is able to continue on its upward trajectory and that the student competitors who have chosen to represent UNLV are provided with the support they need.

UNLV Criminal Justice Mock Trial

Mentored by practicing legal professionals, undergraduate students in the Criminal Justice Mock Trial team are already learning what it takes to become a trial lawyer. The team is open to all undergraduate majors. To prepare for regional and national tournaments, students spend the academic year taking classes in trial advocacy, practicing mock trials, and arguing in front of practicing attorneys and judges from Southern Nevada.
