The UNLV Greenspun College of Urban Affairs (GCUA) is located in one of the most dynamic, well-known, and exciting cities. Through the college, students have extraordinary learning opportunities and access to the Las Vegas community. Our college goal is for faculty, students, and staff to make a difference in the world by developing effective and original solutions for 21st century urban challenges. Our students are currently developing unique solutions together with our outstanding faculty and many Las Vegas community leaders.
Mission and Goals
The Greenspun College of Urban Affairs (GCUA) is dedicated to the personal and academic development of its students. Undergraduate study in the college emphasizes improvement of the quality of urban life through preparing students for professional practice in each of its disciplines. This is accomplished by participating in a dynamic partnership of interdisciplinary learning, service, and scholarship that is founded on active collaboration among students, faculty, professionals, and community members. The graduate programs emphasize the application of theory in professional practice to address the issues and problems of urban life. The GCUA faculty seeks to advance the theoretical and applied body of knowledge of its disciplines, and the improvement of public policy and professional practices.
