Office of Research Engagement

The Office of Research Engagement (ORE) combines the functions of research development, research intelligence, and communication. It strengthens UNLV’s research by connecting faculty with the tools, training, funding support, and partnerships that make research easier and more impactful. Through strategic development and collaboration, we help researchers advance their ideas into competitive proposals and high-impact projects.

Mission

The Office of Research Engagement (ORE) strengthens the research capacity at UNLV by empowering faculty to develop, expand, and elevate their scholarly endeavors. ORE connects researchers with the tools, programs, training, funding resources, and collaborative opportunities that help them thrive and advance impactful research across the university and broader community.

Objectives

  • Support Faculty Success: Provide researchers with essential resources, training, and programs that enhance their ability to conduct high-quality, innovative research and scholarship.
  • Advance Research Development: Facilitate strategic research planning, interdisciplinary initiatives, and opportunities that expand and strengthen the UNLV research portfolio.
  • Enhance Funding Discovery: Offer guidance, tools, and support to help faculty identify and pursue internal and external funding opportunities.
  • Foster Collaboration: Cultivate interdisciplinary partnerships, team science efforts, and community-engaged research across campus and beyond.
  • Promote Research Communication: Strengthen communication and outreach to highlight research impact and connect faculty with campus-wide research information and opportunities.
  • Support Institutional Research Activities: Administer internal awards, pilot funding programs, and initiatives that advance system- and university-level research goals.

ORE Resources

The Research Campus Workspace serves as a central hub that brings together all your research and funding resources in one convenient location. It provides guidance on getting started with research, finding funding opportunities, and staying informed and connected. The workspace also offers training and educational resources, supports interdisciplinary and collaborative research, and assists with proposal development. Additionally, it covers key areas such as working with human and animal subjects, research ethics and misconduct, conflict of interest, export control, and contracts and use agreements.
