Events

The Office of Faculty Affairs sponsors several events during the year for academic and administrative faculty.

New Faculty Orientation

As part of the university’s welcoming and onboarding of new faculty, the Office of Faculty Affairs hosts an annual New Faculty Orientation every August. The event is designed to introduce new faculty to important information and resources as they begin their careers at UNLV. There are also opportunities to meet other new faculty as well as senior faculty and campus administrators. Attendance at this worthwhile event is required for all academic faculty members and strongly encouraged for administrative faculty.

Faculty Length of Service Recognition

The Faculty Length of Service Recognition Program recognizes the ten-, twenty-, thirty-, forty-, and fifty-year service milestones of UNLV’s dedicated academic and administrative faculty members. The public recognition ceremony takes place in the late fall.

Academic Achievement Awards

Each spring, UNLV and the Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) Board of Regents recognize the achievements of faculty in teaching, research/creative activity, and service at the Academic Achievement Awards Ceremony. Achievements of undergraduate and graduate advisors and undergraduate and graduate scholars are also recognized. See Awards and Recognitions.
