We're excited to welcome John Hirano as executive director of the UNLV Institute of Financial Literacy & Wellness, effective Oct. 1, 2025.

In this role, Hirano will lead UNLV's financial literacy and wellness efforts, developing programs and partnerships that empower students and the community to make informed financial decisions and achieve long-term financial success. He's a strategic, mission-driven leader who specializes in designing and scaling impactful programs through institutional partnerships and data-driven insights.

Hirano brings over a decade of experience in financial literacy and wellness, with a proven track record of building partnerships and empowering students and communities to make informed financial decisions. His background includes leadership roles in higher education, nonprofit organizations, and goals coaching.

Passionate about helping young people unlock their potential, Hirano believes that everyone has the opportunity to "write their own ending."
