Vito Rocco's Farewell Celebration Aug. 18

After 13 years of dedicated service to UNLV, Vito Rocco, chief information security officer, will be leaving the Office of Information Technology to take a new role at Dell Technologies. His last working day with the university will be Friday, Aug. 21, 2026.

As UNLV's first CISO, Rocco played a key role in strengthening the university's security posture, working closely with OIT and campus leadership to protect UNLV's information assets and advance a culture of cybersecurity across the institution. He expanded cybersecurity awareness training for employees and established the university's Security Operations Center, creating valuable hands-on learning opportunities for student employees while further enhancing UNLV's cybersecurity capabilities.

His work has left a meaningful mark on the UNLV community. Because of his commitment to excellence and leadership, UNLV is a stronger, more resilient institution that is better prepared to navigate an increasingly complex cybersecurity environment.
