UNLV's community partner, the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada, is seeking UNLV students, staff, and faculty to volunteer with its Volunteer Education Advocate Program (VEAP). Volunteers serve as educational decision-makers for children in foster care who do not have a parent or guardian to fill that role.

No experience with foster care or education law is required — all training and ongoing support are provided. Volunteers commit to approximately one hour per month, (or more, depending on the case) and help ensure foster youth receive the educational support and advocacy they need.

There are currently 30 children waiting to be matched with a volunteer.
