Join us on Tuesday, Sept. 29, from 11:30 a.m.–1 p.m. in the Blasco Wing of the Foundation Building for an informative Lunch & Learn in recognition of Native American Boarding Schools Remembrance Day.
Observed nationally on September 30, Remembrance Day honors the Native American children who died during the Indian boarding school era, recognizes the strength and resilience of survivors and their descendants, and raises awareness of the lasting individual, family, community, and intergenerational impacts of forced assimilation.
This year marks UNLV’s second annual university-wide observance of Remembrance Day. The Lunch & Learn will feature presentations and discussion with UNLV alumni Dr. Joshua Bonde (Western Shoshone) and Dr. Annie Delgado (Tohono O’odham), offering an opportunity to learn more about the history and continued impact of Native American boarding schools.
Lunch will be provided, and attendees can receive a free UNLV Orange Shirt while supplies last. Space is limited to 50 attendees, so please RSVP to attend the Lunch & Learn.
