Tech Talk: How a New Dad Used AI to Build a Language Learning App Oct. 21

When Rakitha Perera couldn’t find an immersive way to teach his toddler his native language, he decided to build one himself.

Join Immersive Learning Initiatives for the Tech Talk, "Mind the Gap: A Designer, a Toddler, and an App I Couldn't Code", on Wednesday, October 21, at 2:30 p.m. in Dreamscape Learn on the second floor of Lied Library. Perera, media application developer in the Office of Information Technology, will share how AI helped him turn a design concept into a published app, where it fell short, and why his own expertise remained essential.

A Q&A will follow, and light refreshments will be provided. The talk is hosted by Immersive Learning Initiatives, a partnership between the University Libraries, the Office of Teaching and Learning Innovation, and the Office of Information Technology.

Register to attend.
