Tarkanian Way Maintenance Project

Road maintenance is underway on Tarkanian Way around the Thomas & Mack Center (TMC). The project will extend the roadway’s lifespan and improve traffic flow and safety. Work is expected to be completed by the end of June, prior to NBA Summer League events. During construction, please be aware of the following closures:

  • Tarkanian Way extending from Thomas and Mack Center (TMC) Drive to East Harmon Avenue is closed to all traffic. 
  • All roads around and behind TMC are closed.
  • The surface parking lot known as the Thunder Lot is closed. 

Please note: These closures do not apply to the University Police Department and other first responders.

Alternative Parking and Routes 

  • Parking is available in the Tropicana Garage and the surface lots surrounding the TMC if entering on the south side of campus
  • Alternative Route 1: To access Harmon Ave. area 
    • Take University Center Dr. heading north to Harmon Ave. and turn east
  • Alternative Route 2: To access the south side of campus 
    • Take Tropicana Avenue turning north onto Wilbur Avenue or take University Center Drive turning right onto Thomas and Mack Drive.
