Student Health Center and FAST Center Reach Perfect Score for Re-Accreditation

The UNLV Student Health Center and Faculty and Staff Treatment Center recently achieved a perfect score in a national reaccreditation survey by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. During a rigorous two-day on-site survey this week, expert AAAHC surveyors inspected and assessed every aspect of Student Health Center and Faculty and Staff Treatment Center health care operations and rated them at 100% compliance with 1,500 stringent, nationally recognized best practices and health care standards in all areas, including patient care, safety protocols, infection control, health care provider competence, laboratory and pharmacy services, medical records, and business practices.

Kathy Underwood, board-certified family nurse practitioner and executive director of the Student Health Center and Faculty and Staff Treatment Center, said, “This perfect survey result is a testament to the immense hard work, passion, and dedication our SHC/FAST Center team puts forward each day to serve our students, faculty and staff at UNLV. It confirms that when patients walk through our doors, they are receiving the highest caliber of healthcare services. This achievement also reinforces our ongoing commitment to continue providing exceptional healthcare to the entire UNLV campus community.”
