UNLV has launched a pilot of designated lanes for bikes, scooters, carts, and other wheeled conveyances. The L-shaped route, called the Rebel Route, extends from the Student Recreation and Wellness Center (RWC) to Hospitality Hall (HOS), and from HOS to the Student Union (SU). A designated dismount zone is located between HOS and Lied Library.
If you walk, bike, ride a scooter, drive a cart, or otherwise travel through the Rebel Route, we want to hear about your experience.

It takes approximately 5-10 minutes, and responses are anonymous. You will have the opportunity to share your thoughts on how well the lanes work, whether they improve safety, and how they can be enhanced. The survey will remain open throughout the fall semester.
Your feedback will help UNLV evaluate the pilot and determine whether and where designated lanes should be expanded to other parts of campus.
Vendor Reminder
The Rebel Route is located along the Alumni Walk, a popular area for booths, tents, tabling, and other vendor displays. When coordinating with vendors, please remind them to keep all displays and equipment out of the designated wheeled conveyance path.
Cart Safety
All employees, including student employees, must complete a cart safety course before driving them. To take the online, self-paced course, follow these instructions:
- Go to the UNLV Risk Management and Safety Training webpage
- Select CHIMERA Safety Training
- Log in with your UNLV email and ACE account
- Go to Safety Training Module → Learning Hub → Available Learning Tracks
- Find Cart Safety Track (Online Course) and click Start Training
Other Campus Improvements
Rebel Route is part of a broader effort to support safer use of wheeled conveyances across campus. Other recent improvements include:
- Building signage: Signage has been installed at the main entrances of nine campus buildings to inform occupants that wheeled conveyances are not allowed inside:

Please park and lock your device at the nearest rack before entering one of these buildings.
- Scooter racks: 38 new scooter parking racks have been installed at 15 campus locations adjacent to existing bicycle racks, providing additional designated parking for scooters.
