Join the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) Desert Region and UNLV on Friday, Nov. 6 for Rising Above Together, a daylong conference bringing together civic leaders, educators, law enforcement, students, interfaith partners and community members to combat antisemitism and fight hate for good.
The event is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on UNLV’s Maryland Parkway campus. Conference registration is complimentary for UNLV faculty, staff, and students with a current UNLV ID and email address.
UNLV faculty, staff, or students interested in registering are encouraged to email the ADL Desert Region office at desertregion@adl.org for detailed registration information. Conference attendees must register in advance, and registration closes at 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
Rising Above Together will include a morning keynote conversation with UNLV President Chris Heavey and national ADL CEO Jonathan Greenblatt, moderated by Boyd School of Law dean Leah Chan Grinvald. An afternoon panel features Parents for Peace, who will explore how radicalization happens, why it affects young people and families, and what can be done to prevent it.
Participants can also join one of four breakout sessions from 11 a.m. to noon on topics including antisemitism and the law, practical tools and strategies for educators, navigating difficult conversations, and a UNLV-led session on Jewish inclusion and efforts to combat antisemitism through dialogue and relationship building.
The complete list of breakout sessions, and the full conference schedule, can be found on the ADL Desert Region website.
