The UNLV Cannabis Policy Institute and Hines Group Comprehensive Neuroscience Lab invite faculty and staff to nominate their graduate and undergraduate students to participate in the 2nd Annual Student Showcase of Cannabis and Psychedelic Research & Policy on Sept. 25, 2026. This is a unique opportunity to present research, writing, and/or policy analysis related to cannabis—including topics in biology, chemistry, law, health, psychology, regulation, policy, etc. — in a concise, 5-minute format. Space is limited and participation is subject to approval.
Faculty are invited to attend and work with their students to fill out the Presenter Information Form or email the CPI at cpi@unlv.edu by Sept. 7, 2026. Further details will be provided upon registration. One student will be recognized with the Outstanding Graduate in Cannabis and Psychedelic Research Award and one for Outstanding Undergraduate in Cannabis Research Award for excellence in scholarship and presentation.
The showcase will feature a special address by Nevada State Assemblymember Shea Backus in addition to remarks by UNLV faculty members Rochelle Hines, Ph.D. and Dustin Hines, Ph.D.
