Congratulations to Mia McCarthy for receiving the Administrative Faculty of the Month Award for May 2026. Mia serves as the Academic Eligibility Specialist within Student and Academic Success at UNLV. Her nominators wrote: 

“Mia is the epitome of a team-player. She works hand-in-hand with prospective students, current students, faculty, and staff to ensure that everyone's customer service experience is a pleasant one. She utilizes all of the resources available to her to pass along information about campus events, policies, procedures, and opportunities. Her effectiveness in promoting the campus enriches the university experience for everyone she comes in contact with. The quality of Mia's work is superb. It is reassuring to leadership and her team alike to know that she will finish any project accurately and usually well before the assigned deadline. It is also impressive how much she can balance at once. She effectively advises multiple athletic teams, oversees planning for multiple events throughout the year, manages the student-athlete textbook program, and is the primary P-Card holder for her office, all while being a graduate student with the Law School.”

The Administrative Faculty of the Month award recognizes outstanding colleagues who go above and beyond in their duties in advancing UNLV’s mission. The winning recipient receives a certificate and $150 in recognition of their contributions. Nominations for the June 2026 award are due by June 30, 2026.
