Math Learning Center Update

We are pleased to announce that Amy Mathis-Leonard has been appointed Director of UNLV’s Math Learning Center (MLC). The MLC will move to Academic Affairs within the Provost’s Office, while faculty teaching in the MLC will retain their appointments in the Department of Mathematical Sciences. This change will strengthen collaboration among the MLC, the Department of Mathematical Sciences, the College of Sciences, and Academic Affairs in the Provost’s Office, and build on the MLC’s strong record of supporting student success in gateway math courses. We extend our sincere thanks to Zhijian Wu for his service and leadership as longstanding director of the MLC. He will continue to collaborate with and advise Mathis-Leonard on matters related to the MLC through the 2026-2027 academic year.
