This is an arduous process that is very involved and takes a lot of work and numerous layers of approval. It allows transfer students to have gen ed waived and enhances recruitment of transfers. She also oversees the Faculty Appeals Committee for students needing alternative admissions. In this role, she works with the faculty committee and has helped hundreds of students with difficult situations gain admission to UNLV. Many of these students are veterans of the armed forces, first generation or come form underserved populations. Her efforts and advocacy have helped the university grow. The nominee oversees the transfer team of 3 Transfer Counselors. She also is very hands on and does work herself. The nominee and her team manage over 4000 applicants per semester. She is very hardworking, leads by example and has an open door policy. With a tenure of 20 years all in admissions, the nominee is a "go to" person in the office for students and staff.”
