Congratulations to Al Hastings on being selected as one of the Administrative Faculty of the Month Award recipients for July 2026. Hastings serves as an online student support specialist within Online Education at UNLV. The nominators wrote:
“One of Al's greatest accomplishments is not a single project, but the consistently exceptional level at which he executes every initiative entrusted to him. He has become the driving force behind many of our student experience initiatives, approaching every project with professionalism, creativity, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellence. What makes Al exceptional is his ability to turn ambitious ideas into reality. Whether developing and delivering presentations, coordinating complex projects, creating student resources, or supporting university-wide initiatives, he consistently elevates the final product. A recent example is his development and implementation of the WebCampus course for New Student Orientation, creating a scalable virtual advising experience that better prepares incoming undergraduate students for a successful transition to UNLV. His reliability, initiative, and consistently outstanding work have expanded our team's capacity, strengthened partnerships across campus, and directly enhanced the experience of countless UNLV students.”
The Administrative Faculty of the Month awards recognize outstanding colleagues who go above and beyond in their duties in advancing UNLV’s mission. The winning recipients receive a certificate and $150 in recognition of their contributions. Nominations for the August 2026 awards are due by Aug. 31, 2026.
