Today, UNLV recognizes National AI Literacy Day with a practical, campus-wide opportunity to explore how artificial intelligence is shaping teaching, learning, research, and work across the university.
Whether you are just getting started with AI or looking to deepen your understanding, below you will find several ways to build your AI literacy and engagement.

This 90-minute virtual session introduces the current landscape of AI at UNLV and highlights how different areas of campus approach AI literacy.
The event begins with a short keynote, “AI 101 and the State of AI at UNLV,” followed by lightning talks from colleagues across campus sharing how AI is showing up in their work and where to find resources.

Want hands-on practice with AI?
Join Teaching & Learning Innovation Faculty Drop-In Hours on Tuesday, March 31 (BEH 235, 10:00-11:30 a.m.) and Wednesday, April 2 (Virtual via Zoom, 3:30-5:00 p.m.) to experiment with AI tools, ask questions, and explore classroom applications.
You can also attend upcoming AI in the Classroom sessions. Two participation options are available: a virtual session on Tuesday, April 7, from 3:30–5:00 p.m., and an in-person session on Wednesday, April 8, from 10:00 –11:30 a.m. in BEH 240.
What resources are available for students?
Students explore responsible AI use through the Learning with AI Canvas course, which introduces foundational concepts and UNLV policies.
Faculty interested in incorporating the module into their courses can use the Learning with AI Instructor Guide.
