The Division of Educational Outreach is transforming to better serve lifelong learners as a community-facing gateway for UNLV non-credit educational opportunities. To reflect its renewed vision for all forms of learning across the lifecycle, the division will now be known as UNLV Lifelong Learning.
Lifelong Learning now serves as the university’s central hub for community-facing education and credentials. Offering accessible, flexible, and high-impact opportunities for personal enrichment, professional advancement, employer training, and civic engagement, UNLV Lifelong Learning provides in-person, hybrid, and online learning in a wide variety of areas.
This new identity brings together workforce and professional development opportunities, continuing education, and personal enrichment programs under one unified organization. It streamlines services, aligns with institutional goals, and expands access to learning opportunities for people at every stage of life.
UNLV Lifelong Learning is structured around three primary areas:
- Workforce Development, Employer Training, and Career Advancement Program
- Offers professional development, continuing education, and evolving partnerships for workforce training credentialing, professional certifications, microcredentials, credit for prior learning (CPL) opportunities, and non-credit certificate programs that respond to regional workforce demand and Southern Nevadans’ professional and career development needs.
- Personal Enrichment Programs
- Includes a wide range of noncredit courses for creativity, connection, hobbies, skills development, and fun. One example is the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI at UNLV), which remains a signature program for retired and semi-retired adults.
- Client Services, Operations, and Outreach
- Focuses on campus and community engagement; faculty, employer, and student support services; and learner success.
Coming Soon
While Osher Lifelong Learning (OLLI) programs will retain their name, all division offerings will now be connected and promoted under the UNLV Lifelong Learning brand. A refreshed website is in development, and future marketing and communications will reflect this unified, forward-looking vision for lifelong education that is both campus-connected and community-facing.
As part of the transition:
- Young Rebels is integrated into the Early Outreach programs within Academic Affairs, strengthening our support for future college students.
- The Cannon Survey Center has phased out operations, with UNLV survey support now provided by the Office of Academic Effectiveness within Academic Affairs.
- Summer Term is now housed within the Office of the Registrar, aligning it seamlessly with fall and spring enrollment, and student support services.
To guide this transformation, Academic Affairs will be hiring for two key leadership roles:
- Executive Director of Lifelong Learning to manage workforce and enrichment curriculum, offerings, credit for prior learning, and learner success
- Director of Operations & Campus Outreach to manage campus relations, client services, and operations
