Student Connection & Engagement invites you to attend Hula & Hālāwai: The History of Hula as Propaganda in Hawai‘i, an experience centered on Native Hawaiian culture through hula as both movement and storytelling.

Led by Hope Amaral, this event offers participants the opportunity to engage with hula in both practice and context, exploring its cultural significance and historical use in Hawai‘i.

The two-hour experience includes:

• 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.: Guided hula instruction with Hope Amaral in SRWC 2025

• 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.: Exploration of the cultural significance and history of hula in SRWC 1010

• Hawaiian refreshments provided

Faculty and staff are invited to attend and may also consider sharing this opportunity with students as a form of cultural engagement or experiential learning.
