One of the Harrah College of Hospitality’s most celebrated events will make a comeback on Thursday, Jan. 22, 2026: The Vallen Dinner of Distinction.
Named after the college’s founding dean, Jerry Vallen, the event honors change-making hospitality industry leaders who inspire UNLV students and elevate the industry worldwide.
This year’s celebration will look a little different, however, replacing the traditional gala-style dinner with a luxury lounge-style event featuring chef tasting tables, immersive entertainment, and activations throughout the Las Vegas Grand Prix Plaza. To add to this truly unique experience, Dean David Cárdenas will unveil the college’s new vision and direction, ushering in a new era of excellence in hospitality education.
The evening will also celebrate the College of Hospitality’s Alumni of the Year honorees from 2022 to 2025, while also honoring the legacy of founding dean Jerry Vallen, former dean Stuart Mann, and the late emeritus faculty member Dr. John Stefanelli, whose contributions have shaped the college’s success.
