Faculty teaching spring 2026 undergraduate courses are invited to participate in UNLV’s pilot of CircleIn, which is a digital learning community designed to enhance student engagement, collaboration, and success.
Participants gain free access to the CircleIn app, where students can connect with their professor and classmates, post study materials, and collaborate in real time. CircleIn can serve as a “virtual study lounge” where students can brainstorm, ask questions, and review course content together, all from the convenience of their smartphone, laptop, or computer. To encourage participation, students earn points for engaging on the app, which can be redeemed for prizes such as gift cards. CircleIn includes built-in safeguards to discourage and prevent academic dishonesty, unlike the unmonitored platforms many students turn to outside the professor’s purview.
By joining the pilot, you can help your students strengthen their learning network and feel more connected to your course community. If you are interested in using CircleIn, you can learn more about it by watching the CircleIn Overview for Professors video. Review the CircleIn Gateway Courses Case Study, which illustrates how the University of South Carolina leveraged CircleIn to help improve pass rates and retention in select gateway courses.
If you would like to participate or have any inquiries, please email Dan Gianoutsos at dan.gianoutsos@unlv.edu.
