February Administrative Faculty of the Month Award Winner: Nicole Huckins

Congratulations to Nicole Huckins for receiving the Administrative Faculty of the Month Award for February 2026. Nicole serves as the associate director of finance and business operations within the Greenspun College of Urban Affairs at UNLV. Her nominators wrote:

“During a period of intense staffing shortages and employee turnover. Nicole stepped in to cover critical operational gaps, reassigned workflows to prevent service disruptions, and took on additional responsibilities while simultaneously supporting the onboarding and training of new staff. Nicole's ability to prioritize urgent needs, maintain morale, and keep processes moving forward prevented delays and preserved the college's business processes during a challenging transition period. Because of her leadership, adaptability, and commitment to continuity, the College remained stable and productive despite limited resources. Her efforts directly benefited the broader university community by ensuring essential services continued uninterrupted and positioned the college for a smoother recovery once staffing levels improved. Nicole inspires leadership and contributes to teamwork through her consistent reliability, professionalism, and steady presence, especially in challenging situations. Colleagues trust her because she approaches decisions thoughtfully and remains calm and solution-focused, even when facing competing priorities or stressful circumstances.”

The Administrative Faculty of the Month award recognizes outstanding colleagues who go above and beyond in their duties in advancing UNLV’s mission. The winning recipient receives a certificate and $150 in recognition of their contributions. Nominations for the March 2026 award are due by March  28, 2026.
