The Jean Nidetch Care Center is offering educational presentations for RSOs, classes, departments, and individual viewing for the Fall semester! These presentations are a great way to introduce students, staff, and faculty to important topics and learn more about the resources available through the Care Center and on campus. We can facilitate these presentations in-person, virtually, or provide a pre-recorded video.
Presentation Topics:
- About the Care Center: This presentation explains the services and process that the Care Center has to help students, staff, and faculty affected by power-based violence.
- Let’s Talk About Consent: This presentation defines consent and explores communication skills that promote a culture of consent.
- The Power of Romance in Relationships: This presentation defines elements of healthy, unhealthy, and abusive relationships, and explores different types of boundaries.
- Journey to Self-Care: This presentation explores various self-care tools for victim-survivors of power-based violence.
- (NEW) Active Bystander Intervention: This presentation helps build skills to become an active bystander and build a safer community
- (NEW) UNLV Support Team Overview: This presentation helps students understand what the UNLV Support Team (UST) is and how they support students in distress.
- (NEW) UST Resource Overview: Provides an overview of how UST supports students and connects them with campus resources and referrals.

If you are interested in scheduling all five Care Center presentations, you can request them as a series. All five presentations can be scheduled depending on the group’s needs.
