Call for Participants: Odyssey Day Public Reading

Call for Volunteers: “Odyssey Day”

Student and faculty collaborators from the UNLV Departments of History, World Languages and Cultures, and Art History, and the Lied Library, are pleased to announce Thursday, Oct. 15, 2026 as Odyssey Day. One of the main events of the day is the public reading event from 2:30-5 p.m. in the Amargosa Room of Lied Library (LLB 1149). We need volunteers to read sections of The Odyssey! 

If you would like to volunteer, please e-mail John Haberstroh (john.haberstroh@unlv.edu), and he will share the sign-up sheet with you. This will be done on a first-come, first-served basis. The sign-up sheet will have the rough time frames for each section, so please commit to staying at least 15 minutes before your scheduled time.

Volunteers are welcome to choose any passage they like and can read it is any language they wish.
