Are You a Postpartum Runner? We’d Love Your Help with Our Research!

We're currently looking to recruit individuals who are currently postpartum individuals who have given birth within the past 2 years and meet the following inclusion criteria: (1) ≥18 years of age, (2) running at least once per week, and (3) able to run without pain limitations. You will be excluded if you are (1) currently pregnant and (2) healthcare provider-imposed restrictions limiting participation in physical activity beyond activities of daily living or prohibiting running. This research aims to identify the musculoskeletal strength and running biomechanical characteristics of postpartum runners with stress urinary incontinence (SUI).

If you choose to participate, the study will involve (1) questionnaires taking approximately 20 minutes, (2) Hip muscle strength test taking about 30-40 minutes, and (3) a running biomechanics assessment lasting 15 minutes (Videotaping). These activities will occur once within 2 years postpartum. A running biomechanics assessment will be videotaped for research purposes.

Data collection will take place at the UNLV Sports Injury Research Center (Paul McDermott Physical Education - Building G: MPE-G) on UNLV’s main campus. Participants will receive a $25 Amazon gift card after the completion of data collection.
