Las Vegas’ workforce is the most at-risk for losing jobs to artificial intelligence, according to a recent report determining the U.S. cities where AI poses the biggest threat to employment.

A new memorial has been created on the University of Nevada Las Vegas campus as students, staff, and the community grieve the loss of the three professors who were killed.

In order to identify the areas that care the most, WalletHub compared the 100 largest cities across 38 key indicators of a compassionate spirit.

The vigil will serve as an opportunity for the UNLV community to “be together, to grieve together, and honor the lives of three colleagues, friends, and mentors who will never be forgotten.”

Neighbors, students, and faculty members all gathered in front of UNLV Professor Naoko Takemaru’s home Saturday to honor the professor who was killed in a shooting on the university’s campus.

It's the first weekend since a gunman opened fire at UNLV, and the Las Vegas community is still rallying behind students and faculty devastated by the tragedy.

While the state rakes in record high tax revenues, workers are still facing slow wage growth and the nation’s highest unemployment rate.

Social media sites such as X and Reddit would be flooded with videos of frightened students scrambling across the Maryland Parkway campus fearing for their lives, others posting messages that they were safe. Also included in the torrent were posts filled with inaccuracies that ignited a chain of misinformation.

Naoko Takemaru was a professor. For Mario Reyes, she was also a neighbor. She was a friend.
