Appointment/Election: Yuri Graves

Yuri Graves (Police Services) recently was elected president for Region IX of the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM). The region includes Nevada, Arizona, California, Hawaii, and the Pacific Trust Territories, including American Samoa, Guam, and the Northern Mariana Islands. He will take the oath of office at the annual IAEM Conference in November and begin a two-year term. IAEM, which has more than 6,000 members worldwide, is a nonprofit educational organization dedicated to promoting the principles of emergency management and representing those professionals whose goals are saving lives and protecting property and the environment during emergencies and disasters." In February 2020, he will complete his two-year term as president of the Nevada Emergency Preparedness Association
