Savannah Baltera (Enrollment Management), Karen Violanti (Student Success), Al Hastings (UNLV Online), Alyssa Hill (UNLV Online) presented at the 2026 Students in Transition conference (hosted by the National Resource Center for the First Year Experience and Students in Transition) on Sept. 30. The presentation, titled "Reimagining High-Impact Onboarding: Expanding Access Through Intentional Virtual Design," captured the process by which UNLV initiated and evolved the experience of our virtual learners in the annual Rebel Ready Week experience. The presentation engaged conversation on how the initiative evolved from a basic Canvas shell into a dynamic conference model. The session explored the administrative progression, multi-departmental collaborations and assessment practices guiding institutional decisions. The session discussed how these collaborative models can be seamlessly adapted across the student lifecycle to provide high-impact transitional experiences for today's evolving student populations.
