Lindsay Buczek; Fadi Azar; Kavita Batra; and Sandhya-Wahi Gururaj (all Medicine), along with Justin Bauzon (Cleveland Clinic Foundation) and Caleb Murphy (University of Chicago), published an article, "The Data Error Criteria (DEC) for retrospective studies: development and preliminary application," in the Journal of Investigative Medicine. The Data Error Criteria (DEC) provides researchers, especially those from smaller institutions or programs, a clear framework to effectively evaluate for errors within the retrospective chart reviews datasets. Buczek and Azar are medical students and have published multiple peer-reviewed articles.
