Joshua Khorsandi, Liahm Blank, Kaloyan Momchilov, Michael Dagovetz, and Kavita Batra (all Medicine) published a study "From Ocean to Table: How Public Awareness Shapes the Fight Against Microplastic Pollution" in the journal Urban Science. Initiated and driven by medical students, the study synthesizes global public perceptions of microplastic pollution, uncovering key gaps in awareness, trust, and behavior. The team continues this important work through a group-mentoring model supported by Dr. Batra, exploring the intersection of environmental exposure and human health, an area of growing relevance in preventive and environmental medicine.
