Janelle Yasukochi (Student Success), Kevin McVay (Sciences), & Maria Aladjova (Health Sciences) served as co-chairs for the 2025 Annual NACADA Conference, the global community for academic advising, which was held at Caesars Palace from Oct. 26 - 29, 2025. Co-chairs are invaluable volunteer leadership roles that establish the Conference Committee and work closely with the NACADA Executive Office to create a successful conference. Janelle, Kevin, and Maria led the Conference Committee through the year-long conference development process, including, but not limited to the development of the conference theme: "Viva Advising: Excellence in Student Support", the proposal review process, keynote speaker selection, and volunteer coordination. Additionally, they participated in the concurrent session titled "Maximize Your Membership and Maximize Your Conference Experience," moderated specific sessions, supported conference service projects, provided opening and closing remarks, and more. On top of these commitments, Janelle facilitated a panel titled "Women of Color Leaders at the Table: An Engaging Discussion of Career Experiences and Next Steps" while Maria co-presented a session with Sara Betts (Health Sciences) titled "Thank You for Your Service: Advising Veterans" and Kevin presented a poster session titled "Building the Next Generation of Advisors: Lessons Learned From a Graduate Internship Program". They also served as members of the NACADA Annual Conference Advisory Board, which oversees the curriculum and activities of the annual conference.
