Gabson Baguma (Civil and Environmental Engineering) has been awarded First Place in the 2025 Academic Achievement Award by the American Water Works Association (AWWA) California–Nevada Section in the Master’s category. The award recognizes his exceptional masters degree thesis titled “Formation Potential of Disinfection Byproducts from Quaternary Ammonium Surfactants During Ozonation with Subsequent Chlor(am)ination.” Gabson conducted this research under the guidance of Dr. Erica Marti and with support from his academic committee. He will be formally recognized at the CA-NV Section Awards Ceremony during the Annual Water Conference of the West in San Diego, April 6–9, 2026. This award highlights UNLV’s commitment to advancing innovative research in water treatment and environmental sustainability.
