Cicely Morgan and Rebecca Rogers (both Center for Academic Enrichment and Outreach) presented to TRIO professionals at the Southwest Association of Student Assistance Programs (SWASAP) annual conference in New Orleans, Louisiana on Monday, Nov. 6.
During the Southwest regional TRIO conference, the duo presented on the power of communication and collaboration. Titled, “Fortitude Through Teamwork: TRIO & GEAR UP Best Practices to Enhance College Readiness Programming," the interactive presentation highlighted how UNLV TRIO ETS, UNLV TRIO UB/UBMS, UNLV GEAR UP Partnership and other campus and community partners collaborate to maximize resources, enhance educational experiences, increase college awareness and participation among participants, while minimizing the duplication of services. Attendees walked away with a process for planning, implementing, facilitating and evaluating successful college awareness activities.
