Dr. Alex Rowan (Medicine) presented a poster entitled "Institution of a Rib Fracture Guideline at a Level 1 Trauma Center" at the 2025 Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP) Annual Conference in Chicago on behalf of co-authors Dr. Kevin Petersen, Dr. Christopher Gonzalez, Dr. Odessa Pulido, Dr. Allison McNickle and Dr. Deborah Kuhls (all Medicine) describing the creation of a treatment pathway for trauma patients with multiple rib fractures. Based upon the Rib Injury Guideline (RIG) and frail scores, patients are triaged for admission level of care, evaluation for regional anesthesia and surgical stabilization of rib fractures.
