About the Scholarship
Lee Business School students studying abroad for a full semester (fall or spring) are eligible to apply for the $1,200 Mel & JoAnn Jameson Study Abroad Scholarship. Scholarship recipients who intern in a foreign language business environment while on study abroad will also receive an internship stipend of $800 to partially offset internship fees, bringing the scholarship to $2,000
Qualifications
- Enrollment as a major, minor, or pre-major in the Lee Business School. Interdisciplinary studies majors whose program includes a substantial business element are also eligible. Business Spanish experience minors are particularly encouraged to apply.
- Awards are contingent upon enrollment in a UNLV approved study abroad program, continued enrollment as a full-time UNLV student during the term of the scholarship, and satisfactory completion of the study abroad program.
Preference
- While all LEE students are eligible, first preference will be given to those enrolled in the Business Spanish Experience minor.
- Next preference will be given to those enrolled in, or demonstrating intent to enroll in, an internship in a non-English speaking business environment. Note that each USAC site establishes its own language competency and other requirements for placement in an internship.
Application Deadlines
- Fall semester scholarship: June 1
- Spring semester scholarship: Nov. 1
