The Lincy Institute was founded in 2009 with a generous gift from The Lincy Foundation and the support of United States Senator Harry Reid to develop and strengthen Nevada’s economic future and the quality of life and opportunities for its residents. The Lincy Institute conducts and supports research that focuses on improving Nevada's economy, education, governance, health, nonprofits, and social services. The institute’s work informs policy interventions to address Nevada’s most pressing issues, provides a forum for local, state, and regional organizations to address large-scale policy challenges, and identifies and targets federal, state, and philanthropic funding opportunities to enhance Nevada’s research and policy development.

Support the Robert E. Lang Memorial Fellowship
In 2022, the Robert E. Lang Memorial Fellowship was established to honor Dr. Robert E. Lang, the founding executive director of The Lincy Institute, who passed in June 2021. Donations to the fellowship support a selected UNLV Ph.D. student completing a dissertation in metropolitan public policy broadly defined who, like Dr. Lang, will use their skills to address current and future urban public policy challenges.
