Academic and Administrative Faculty Recruitments
*Approval is required from the UNLV Office of Equal Employment & Title IX or Human Resources prior to final round of virtual interviews.
Task 1: Move Candidates to the Next Stage
The Hiring Manager or Administrative Assistant role must move the candidates selected for final virtual interviews* to the Screen stage in Workday.
TASK 2: OBTAIN EEO APPROVAL
An email must be sent to UNLVHrRecruitment@unlv.edu with the following information:
- Initial Interview Questions
(Phone or virtual interviews) - Completed Evaluation Rubrics
All completed rubric(s) used to evaluate candidates during phone or virtual interviews - Final Round Interview Questions
Questions to be used during final-round interviews - Recruitment Sources
Locations of any paid or external job postings/advertisements - Finalist Resumes
Current resumes for all candidates advancing to the final round.
Include a list of finalists’ first and last name
Note: A justification is required when advancing a pool of only 1–2 candidates.
Initial Interviews – First round of interviews conducted by phone or virtually (video).
Final Round Interviews – Final round of interviews conducted on campus or virtually (video/remote).
Task 3: Notification of Approval
After the request has been approved, the hiring manager and administrative assistant will receive a confirmation email with next steps, and receive inbox items for each candidate in Workday.

Classified Recruitments
*Approval from Human Resources is required prior to contacting candidates or conducting phone or virtual interviews.
Task 1: Move Candidates to the Next Level
The Hiring Manager or Administrative Assistant role must move the selected interview candidates to the Screen stage in Workday.
Task 2: Obtain EEO Approval
The primary recruiter will review the candidate list and verify:
- Minimum number of candidates (5)
- All candidates meet the minimum qualifications
- The pool contains 22% or more veteran candidates per AB-309
- No duplicate pre-hire records
- No incomplete applications
Task 3: Notification of Approval
After the request has been approved, the hiring manager and administrative assistant will receive a confirmation email with next steps, and receive inbox items for each candidate in Workday.

Post Interview
After interviews are complete, and you have identified a finalist, the hiring manager or administrative assistant role must complete the three interview Workday inbox tasks for the finalist, which are titled Schedule Interview, Rate, and Interview Decision.
Reference Check Stage
The hiring manager should move the selected finalist forward to the Reference Check Stage.
