About the Ceremony

Each spring and fall the Graduate College hosts this reception in celebration of our graduating doctoral candidates. The Doctoral Recognition Ceremony is held in addition to the university Commencement Ceremony and does not replace Commencement.

All graduates that attend the event will be awarded the UNLV Doctoral Honor Cord to be worn at Commencement. Students are hooded at Commencement.
