Description

This thrilling evening will celebrate the university’s top soloists, demonstrating the remarkable level of talent and dedication cultivated within the UNLV School of Music.

Each year, the UNLV Concerto Competition highlights the finest musicians from the university’s acclaimed music program, providing them with the invaluable opportunity to perform as soloists with the full symphony orchestra. This year’s winners have demonstrated extraordinary musicianship and technical mastery, and their performances promise to deliver a captivating musical experience.

2025 UNLV Concerto Competition Winners

  • Artem Alexanyan, Piano – M.M., student of Professor Mykola Suk 
    Performing Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme by Paganini
    A dazzling and virtuosic masterpiece, this piece takes the audience through a kaleidoscope of moods—from fiery brilliance to lyrical beauty, culminating in the famous 18th variation’s soaring romanticism.
  • Vitalii Prusak, Clarinet – D.M.A., student of Professor Bryan Conger
    Performing Nielsen’s Clarinet Concerto
    A tour-de-force for the clarinet, this concerto is known for its dramatic contrasts, technical demands, and dynamic interplay between soloist and orchestra.
  • Nicholas Carozza, Oboe – D.M.A., student of Professor Stephen Caplan
    Performing Goossens’ Oboe Concerto (One Movement)
    A work of elegance and expressive lyricism, this concerto highlights the oboe’s warm, singing tone and virtuosic agility

Price

$20

$10 discounted tickets are available to seniors, the disabled, military members, all students, and UNLV faculty and staff. Students may also receive one free ticket with valid ID.
