Period Care Products and Safer Sex Kits

We offer free period care products and free safer sex kits to all students, staff, and faculty. Safer sex kits are available on the table outside our office, and period care products can be requested at the front desk. Please take what you need, no questions asked.

Lactation and Relaxation Room

Jean Nidetch Care Center offers a private lactation space for clients. The space is equipped with a loveseat, a mini fridge, and a Diaper Genie for clients’ convenience. Clients are welcome to use the form below to create a reservation for the lactation space. Walk-ins are welcome on a first-come, first-served basis.

When the lactation space is not in use, walk-ins are welcome to use this space to engage in restful and/or restorative hobbies, such as reading, drawing, and knitting.

Healing Library

The Healing Library is a collection of books focused on wellness, recovery, and empowerment, featuring fiction, nonfiction, memoirs, and educational materials that support healing and mental health.

Books are available to students, staff, and faculty for a one-month checkout, with extensions upon request. Visit the Jean Nidetch Care Center to borrow a book through a short form. Late returns may result in a fee.

Get Involved

There are various ways you can get involved with our team to create a safe space for the UNLV community, including:

  • Enrolling in the Care Advocate Training Institute (CATI) to become a care advocate
  • Becoming a care volunteer
  • Selecting the Jean Nidetch Care Center as your undergraduate/graduate practicum site
