Faculty and Staff Treatment (FAST) Center

Who is eligible to be seen at the FAST Center? Are my spouse, children, or parents able to be seen?

All UNLV faculty/staff and their dependents are eligible to be seen at the FAST Center. Minor dependent children must be age 5 or older.

Are the services at FAST free?

There is a $25.00 office visit fee per appointment. Diagnostic testing, lab work, and other treatments are offered at an additional price.

What are the hours at the FAST Center?

  • Fall & Spring Semester:
    • Monday - Thursday 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.
    • Friday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
  • Summer:
    • Monday-Thursday 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
    • Friday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Are walk-in appointments accepted at the FAST Center?

Advance appointments are strongly encouraged. Same day appointments can be scheduled, based on availability.

  • Blood-pressure checks for patients can be done on a walk-in basis without an appointment, subject to staff availability to do the check.
  • Immunizations can be provided on a walk-in basis; however, it is recommended to call the FAST Center in advance to ensure the type of immunization required is available.

Do I need to have insurance to be seen in the FAST Center? Does my spouse/dependent need to be on my UNLV insurance to be seen in FAST Center?

All eligible patients are welcome to be seen in the FAST Center regardless of their insurance coverage or if they do not have insurance. Please see below for additional information if you are covered by HMO insurance.

Can I be seen in FAST if I have an HMO insurance?

All eligible patients are welcome to be seen in the FAST Center regardless of their insurance coverage. However, for those patients with an HMO insurance plan, it is recommended that they see their HMO preferred primary care provider for referrals to specialists and lab/diagnostic orders to avoid responsibility for out-of-pocket costs.

Does the FAST Center bill Medicare/Medicaid?

All eligible patients can be seen at the FAST Center regardless of insurance coverage for a $25 office visit fee per appointment. We are unable to bill Medicare, Medicaid, or other insurance carriers at this time.

Do I need to be seen for a refill of my prescription if I am a returning patient to the FAST Center?

If you are taking a daily medication for a chronic health issue and are in need of a prescription refill, please call your pharmacy and ask that they fax the FAST Center a refill request at 702-895-4316. If you are in need of an office visit prior to the prescription refill, our office will inform you. Please allow 24-72 business hours (1-3 business days) for your request to be processed.

May I been seen in the FAST Center for my annual Wellness exam and labs that are required for the additional PEBP HealthsScope HSA/HRA benefit?

Yes. Wellness exams and lab work completed at the FAST Center may fulfill the Annual Preventative Exam and Annual Preventive Lab Work requirements that are necessary to receive the supplemental HealthScope HSA/HRA contribution.

Please note that the following fees* will be applied if these services are completed at the FAST Center and are due at the time of service:

  • Office Visit: $25 Fee
  • Lab work Visit: $5 Blood Draw Fee + $5 Lab Processing Fee

* HealthScope does not reimburse members for these fees. The fees may be applied toward your Out of-Network deductible/benefits.
